Enabling Technologies for G3 ESP

1. Microsonic Systems, San Jose Conact Vibhu Vivek (Pres, CEO)-TALK http://www.microsonics.com/technology.html Fresnel Annal Sector Actuator (FASA) create lateral waves w/o cavitation.  At different strengths can mix (in layers), shear or lyse.  Have a Phase 1 SBIR Grant (NASA) .  Also developing hybrid power devices to recapture energy used in the process.  Very interested in working with us.

6. Proteomic Technology-Mark Chee (Prognosys Biosciences)-TALK Design Protien in silico- Synthesize DNA-Peptide-DNA library-assay-sequence Example:  Look for protease cleaving sites.  Peptide portion of Peptide-DNA construct imobolized. Introduce protease.  Those with Protease sites are cleaved freeing the DNA side of the contruct.  Those are collected and sequenced. Imagine spotting Peptide-DNA constructs on Array, expose.  Rather than sequencing, probe the array for what is left. 
7.  Application of Panomics Assay (like our SHA) on hydrogel particles (250uM) Novartis Adam Hill.  Section of the particle contained a barcode and multiplex for different captures.  With camera has up 10um resolution.  After sandwich, sent the particles down microchip and imaged with camera.
8.  LUCAS (Lens Free Camera).  (Aydogan Ozcan)  10-20cm2 holographic/fluorescent images.  Runs on LEDs could get down to low um resolution and keep the same field of view (Wide Field Fluorescence).  Run on smart phone.  Used software to recreate images:  fluorescene arrays, Giardia, E.coli, RBCs infected with Plasmodium, etc..

   1. Pro-Dex (www.pro-dex.com) has multi axis motion controllers
   2. Trinamic (www.trinamic.com ) also does motion and specializes in incorporating their chips into other custom boards.
   3. ELMO has a new line of controllers, "gold" line
10. Valve
    1. Burkert has a couple valves that have hit-and-hold circuitry built into the valve.
    2. Clippard has a line of diaphragm valves that may be interesting. Typically used in pneumatics. www.clippard.com
